On Saturday, NC Governor Beverly Perdue chose to veto The Health Care Freedom Act (NC House Bill 2).  While her use of the executive veto is legitimate political action, in this instance it represents a wanton disregard for the wishes of a majority of our state's legislators and citizens.

ObamaCare (HR 3590) prevents an individual from purchasing cost-effective health insurance tailored to his or her health status (section 2701) and requires them to obtain coverage for all risks regardless of personal exposure (section 1302).  The “Value-Based Payment Modifier” (section 3007) allows a group of fifteen unelected bureaucrats to decide what medical care regimen is permissible for each patient based on cost-effectiveness and provides for fines and incarceration of physicians who don’t comply.  The “Independent Payment Advisory Board” (section 3403) caps Medicare spending to a percentage of GDP at a time when the number of seniors covered by and entering the program is increasing.

"In spite of assurances from the Obama administration, it is unlikely that you will be able to keep your current health insurance policy or your personal physician.  As a 35-year medical professional whose first priority is to my patient, l find this completely unacceptable."

The imposition of these and other regulations by this federal legislation constitutes a direct threat to the medical health and longevity of the citizens of North Carolina.  The Health Care Freedom Act (HB2) veto, if overridden, will protect individual health care rights for the citizens of North Carolina. More specifically, the Health Care Freedom Act represents North Carolina's 10th Amendment responsibility to its citizens to nullify federal legislation that reaches beyond the scope of its enumerated powers; Article 1, Section 8.

The Governor’s veto, coming on the heels of a meeting with President Obama and in contradiction to her previous position, does more to protect the dictates of her political party than the health care of North Carolinians.  Furthermore, it violates the US Government's Service Code of Ethics’ first principle: "Any person in government service should put loyalty to the highest moral principles and to country above loyalty to government persons, party, or department."

Governor Perdue’s veto of The Health Care Freedom Act must be overridden.  Please contact your representative in Raleigh and urge them to fight for North Carolina's health care freedom. Three Senate Democrats with narrow 2010 victories are especially vulnerable and should be pressured to join the defense of our health care liberty:

(22)  William D. Brisson / 919-733-5772 /
(44)  Diane Parfitt  / 919-733-9892 /
(45)  Rick Glazier  / 919-733-5601 /

In addition, you may find my interview with Dr. Clare Gray, founder of Physicians For Reform, very enlightening and informative.  It can be viewed from my website archives at

This is a branch, not the root. Oaths are important, but the problem is not that their current oaths are being broken, but that their oath is to the wrong state of North Carolina. The current state of North Carolina entered the union under military order number 120 during Reconstruction. This created a state which is nothing more than a federal satellite. The 14th Amendment was coerced during this time and made all of us citizens of Washington -- subjugated, national citizens -- rather than state citizens as we were previously. The object of the Civil War was changed, by congress, a year after peace was declared. This is the violation that we must attack, for it is at the root of ALL of these problems and it is the reason we have an unlawful government today.

We can go after oaths and spend millions fighting "issues" all we want, but at some point, we have to abandon this mess of a government and go back to what we had. We must first humble ourselves under God and obey His laws above all else, and regardless of the consequences. And we must refuse to recognize government offices which were put into place unconstitutionally (Supreme Court case Norton v. Shelby County "An unconstitutional act is NOT a law, it confers no rights, it imposes no duties..."). If we would ALL do these things, we could re-build our state governments so that they have no obligation to this wicked federal government.

Outside the box? You better believe it. But this is the way that the founders thought, and so shall we also. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm tired of the waste and of having unlawful state governments with no backbone whatsoever. We have the right to alter or abolish, so LET'S DO IT!

If you agree, go to to learn more about and start participating in the lawful and provable state of North-Carolina.

I want to suggest that since the Elected Criminals in Raleigh are as bad if not worse than those we send to Washington that we start a campaign to Accept the Oaths of any who are elected this election.
The reason that they can break that Oath is that the only one who is a signatory to it is them and the chief Elected Criminal in their branch.
If about 100,000 of us send them a registered letter accepting their oath, and asking that they file our acceptance with the State/ Federal copy of their oaths perhaps they will begin to keep their word.
If not then we can begin to make claims on their Bonds for every time they break their oath.
If they ignore our acceptance it still gives us Standing. If they refuse it I am not sure they can serve.
Any thoughts

I see this posted on boards around the country. I hear it on freedom blogs all over the net.
My question is HOW?
The active part of the bill won't hit till after 2012. Those who are currently being effective are the employers who provide coverage for their people.
What is needed is not encouragement, but rather instruction or suggestions on how to oppose it.

The 912 Symposium on illegal immigration tonight at the Forsyth Tech Bolton Street Campus was interesting. I learned something very important. When County Commissioner candidate Bill Whiteheart stood before the crowd and stated that power flows from the Federal govt., to the state, then to the county...all you have to do is use Saul Alinsky's Rule #12 "Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it." Brother does that rule work miracles. When I corrected him that our governments power flows UP from the people...mercy sakes, he got MAD! He got so mad, he yelled, told me to shut up, and WALKED OUT OF THE MEETING. Good. We didn't want to hear what he had to say anyway. I have no tolerance of politicians who trample the Constitution. If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen.

See my post from April 16 here. In the article I point out Obama's use of this same tactic on the American people. It is time we conservatives learn how to fight this war against our Constitution and our Freedom with a spoonful of the politician's own medicine. The old school mantra of politician's was "never underestimate the gullibility of the American public." Those days are over. I would say that Bill Whiteheart "underestimated the strength of the American public" tonight. We WILL take back our county, our state, and our country.

It might be on WXII tonight. Man, it was crazy!
UPDATE:  WXII did NOT report Bill's meltdown.  Nothing like a consistent MSM!

Jeannie has been on the school board for 16 years.  She helped craft our student assignment plan.  She fought and got Parental Choice passed in our county and she fought for our rights to attend a neighborhood school if we so chose.

She said this race is very important to Forsyth County.  If only 2 incumbents lose, we'll go back to forced mandatory busing.  The CHANGE organization has this non partisan race very stacked in their favor.  Change also wants to eliminate Out of School Suspension. (OSS)  Jeannie Metcalf does NOT support the CHANGE agenda of forced busing and OSS in any way.  She is asking all voters to get out to the May 4 primary and help protect our school board from this radical Saul Alinsky organization.

She has been a member of Calvary Baptist church for 36 years where her husband is a deacon.  She has served on the Personnel committee for 8 years.  For 5 years, she and her husband have led a support group for parents whose kids have gotten involved in drugs and/or alcohol.

She firmly believes in her heart that the school board is her "mission field".  She has worked tirelessly for 16 years to do her best to keep unglodly influences out of our school system.

She has been married for 39 years to husband Doug.  They have 4 daughters and 5 grandchildren.

She said, " I still have a deep and intense passion for serving the parents and citizens of Forsyth County on the school board."

Did you know the group called CHANGE is lobbying and trying to stack the Forsyth County School Board to eliminate Out of School Suspensions?

Did you know the group called CHANGE is lobbying and trying to stack the Forsyth County School Board for a new student assignment plan which will eliminate neighborhood schools and bus children to “assigned” schools?

Did you know the group called CHANGE included a responsive reading in their spring program at 5th Street Baptist Church that required the “congregation,”  including school age children, to recite:
In the name of your Lord and Cherisher Who created- Created man out of a leech-like clot of congealed blood.” Qur'an, Igra (Read) 96;1-2

Did you know the group called CHANGE is a partner of the Industrial Areas Foundation which was founded in 1940 by SAUL ALINSKY.  A radical and anarchist, he was famous for being a MARXIST grassroots organizer.  In 1971 he wrote the book, “Rules for Radicals” which he dedicated to “the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom—LUCIFER.”

Do you know the group called CHANGE has the commitment of the Winston-Salem City Council, the WS/FC School System, and the NC Governor to work with their organization. (source

Did you know this group has only been in Forsyth County for around 9 years and already has 26,000 members and is composed of 54 local institutions of which 44 are local churches!!!!

I attended a GOP candidate debate on Monday, April 26, 2010 at the Golden Corral in Winston-Salem. Both the incumbent sheriff and his opponent Dave Griffith were present. The May 4th primary in Forsyth County will determine which of these two men will be on the GOP ballot for the November election.

The banquet room was filled to capacity, with the GOP Chairman, Nathan Tabor presiding over the debate. Both candidates were given the opportunity to speak specifically about their plans for the Forsyth County Sheriff's Department. Both candidates were presented questions by the audience.

It was a lively, spirited group that did not hesitate to call a bluff, ask a hard question, or hold the candidate's feet to the fire. This is what I saw and heard from each candidate.

On gang crime: At this meeting, the incumbent said that local gangs were not a problem in that they only committed 1% of Forsyth County crime. He said you could look this up on the Internet. (You can also look up a WXII interview aired 3-3-10 where the incumbent stated "His main issue is drugs and gangs.")

On crime: The current sheriff stated that Forsyth County crime has been reduced by 30% during his incumbency. He has been in office since 2004.

On illegal immigration: The incumbent said that he did NOT support Arizona's attempt to protect their citizens with their new and powerful Immigration Law. Felt that the Arizona law "illegally profiled" Hispanics/Latinos.

On certification: The incumbent felt it was more important to "become a certified department" (an expensive process that has no effect on crime control) rather than participate in the federal 287G program which gives enforcement strength to immigration laws already on the books. He claimed that only four North Carolina counties participated in the 287G program.

On sex offenders: The incumbent stated that only 3% are unaccounted for and they are not a problem.

On Employee turnover: Turnover is not a problem.

Several specific questions were directed to the incumbant concerning his current department.
1. One observer asked specifically about the Chief Deputy Brad Stanley having not only hired but also promoted his boyfriend within the sheriff's department. The questioner specifically asked if this type of "cronyism" was common in the department and was the boyfriend "qualified" to be in his position.
2. One observer challenged the incumbant to his misrepresentation of the Arizona immigration law.
3. One observer challenged the incumbants assertion that only four counties in NC were 287g certified and offered state documents to prove her point.
4. One observer challenged the incumbants statements on crime in Forsyth County and offerred documents from the sheriff's department website as proof.

From GOP challenger, Dave Griffith

On gang crime: Quoting the Sheriff's Department Annual Crime Report 2008, Dave stated that Forsyth County school violence is up 28.15%. He pledged to work hand in hand with the school board and administration to "fully investigate and reduce these incidences".

On crime: Dave Griffith outlined plans for a drug interdiction team similar to that in Iredell country. Iredell's interdiction team earned its citizens 2 million dollars in sheriff department funding that the tax payers did not have to finance.

On crime: After quoting the Sheriff Departments Annual Crime Report 2008 documenting an increase in total crime by 8.15% in Forsyth County, Dave Griffith vowed to reduce this figure and better serve the citizens of this county.

On illegal immigration: Just like more than 20 counties in North Carolina have done, Dave Griffith pledged to participate in the Federal 287G program. He pledged to use every law at his discretion to reduce the illegal immigration problem in Forsyth County.

On certification: Unlike the incumbent, Dave Griffith said he would NOT put Forsyth County to the expense of certification of the Sheriff's department. In this current climate of budget constraints, he intends to use available financial resources to improve crime control, increase revenues from drug/crime seizures, and streamline the effectiveness/accountability of the Sheriff's department.

On sex offenders: Quoting a WXII report on 3-10-10, the crowd learned that 40% of Forsyth County sex offenders are unaccounted for. Dave Griffith has plans to assign more than the current one car/one deputy tracking these offenders. He is adamant about increasing departmental accountability and locating these "missing" offenders. He will keep them accounted for with the improvements in manpower and departmental changes in policy and tracking.

On employee turnover: According to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office HR director, turnover in the sheriff's office since 2006 is 57%. The incumbent told WXII on 2-15-10 that "each new deputy costs the county tax payers $100,000 the first year when factoring in costs such as salary, benefits, and equipment". Dave Griffith promised to work tirelessly to retain our great staff in Forsyth County. The cost is too $100,000 per hire...the savings are obvious".

The debate ran for over an hour, with many in the audience hungry for more time to ask questions. Both candidates hung aroung to meet and greet.

For those of you who missed this debate, it was quite the showdown. Just like the Old West gun-slingers fought to the death at the O.K. Corral, these two candidates stirred up a cloud of dust that would have made Clint Eastwood proud. America was alive and well in that room. It was good to see.

Please do not wait until November to vote. If you do not vote in the May primary, you will lose your only opportunity to pick the candidate most qualified, most trustworthy, most principled for the job. Take a friend to the polls.

If you have any questions on this race, feel free to ask me through the comment section.
